Stoker 2nd Class George William Young

George William Young was a grocer prior to the war and lived at Bluebell Farm Belford. He was the son of James and Mary Ann Young and husband of Margaret Young of North Hazelrigg, Chatton. He joined St. David's 393 in July 2012.

George Young served in the Royal Navy as a Stoker 2nd Class on HMS Victory 11. HMS Victory 11 was a Trraining Depot for the Royal Navy and was based at Crystal Palace/ Sydenham fom 1914 - 1919.

George Young died on 18th February 1917 in the Sick Bay Hospital, Naval Barracks, Portsmouth from pneumonia. He is buried in St. Mary's Churchyard, Belford.
